Jane Shotliff is a 50-something journalist with wanderlust. As a child, she got a sound grounding in the geography of the British Isles, thanks to parents who thought a holiday comprised little more than a road map, bed-and-breakfast guide and a camping gaz stove.
She fell in love with flying at the age of 15 and has since travelled to dozens of locations – sometimes solo, sometimes accompanied and often with the family in tow – gaining inspiration from the locals, the landscape, the culture and the climate.
When she was young and foolish, she turned down a job in Bermuda for a post in Blackburn, Lancashire (mostly famous for its 4,000 holes – thanks to John Lennon).
She now plans to spend the rest of her life making up for missed opportunities and lost time!
Thrives on sunshine and red wine and has a soft spot for cats.
